Pediatric care of Rockville follows the immunization guidelines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and Center for Disease Control (CDC). Many vaccines are available in combinations to reduce the number of shots your child receives. Please ask your child's nurse or physician for more details.
For descriptions of these vaccines and the diseases they protect against, please visit the AAP at http://www2.aap.org/immunization, www.cdc.gov/vaccines. For detailed vaccine information sheets published by the CDC, please visit www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/vis.
Well child visits are generally timed to coincide with immunizations during the first 2 ½ years of life. Starting at age 3, annual visits are recommended.
